Black Extension Safe Mascara  $20.00

Formulated to be gentle enough for use with your lash extensions without damaging the adhesive bond. Be sure to use only on the lash tips and avoid pulling. This black extension safe mascara is great for those special occasions or when a more dramatic look is desired, or use to when you are due for a fill, and you would like to camoflage gaps.  Fabulous for bottom lashes, lasts all day without smudging, and is easily removed with gentle eye makeup remover, or oil free soap and water.

For the LONGEST Lasting Eyelash Extensions:

  • Keep them dry for at least 2 days.
  • Keep oils away from the eye area.
  • Do not wear ANY eye makeup (this is the key to the longest lasting extensions).
  • Wash your face around your eyes, but use a special oil-free cleanser with a makeup brush to cleanse the eyelashes when needed.
  • Sleep on your back.
  • Do not put lashes directly under the shower stream, and wear sunglasses in heavy winds!
  • Never pull, twist, rub, or pick at the lashes, oils from your hands can degrade the adhesive.
  • Get regular Touch-Ups.
  • Do not touch your lashes with fingers.
  • If you must wear eyeliner or mascara (for a more dramatic look), use ONLY oil free products made for use with extensions, and be sure to cleanse them thoroughly prior to going to sleep.

Lash Extensions require special care and treatment in order to maintain their beauty and longevity. It is very important to do your best to keep the natural lash extensions clean, on a daily basis. You must use either an oil-free makeup remover with a brush, or a baby shampoo to cleanse the lashes daily (with the use of eye makeup). Daily rinsing will not only keep your eyes bright and healthy, it will also keep lash extensions from shedding because of oils and bacteria that may cause the adhesive to break down prematurely. It is a good idea to keep baby shampoo in your shower to use on your lashes.

When drying your face, be careful of your new lashes. It is a good idea to comb them, to straighten them out before they dry all the way. When combing the lash extension, it’s better to start at the middle of the lash rather than the base of the lash, to avoid too much pulling on the lash extension. It is alright to lightly dry lashes with a cool blow dryer to get them to dry more quickly.

To keep lashes looking their best, the less you touch them, the better. This goes for your eye health in general, try not to touch them if your fingers are not clean, to avoid potentially harmful bacteria, as well as oils from your skin. It is advised that you learn to sleep on your back, or take special care while sleeping on your side. Sleeping directly on your face is never advisable, for both your lashes and the care of your facial skin! It will take a little time, but you must get used to rubbing your lashes from underneath, rather than on the top half of your lash.

For those who still want to wear mascara on the bottom lashes, or to blend any gaps between fills it is very important to wear mascara made for lash extensions, or an oil-free mascara. The Black Lash Extension Mascara sold at Lakewood Lash is an excellent choice for mascara. It is also advised that all eye makeup used with individual lash extensions is oil-free, in order to keep lashes on and avoid glue degradation.

The thicker the diameter of your lashes, the more you may feel them. Remember! It’s best to keep your hands off, to extend the life of your new lashes.
